The Dynamic Brake actually never worked at all in either scenario.ĭon't get the idea that I'm new to handling a train on a hill. My final score was more than -2,000,000 from speeding. As soon as I hit that switch into the yard tracks the entire train overturned. By the time I reached the yard at Mojave I was doing 110 MPH on a track with a 25 MPH limit. With the Train Brake in Emergency, the Locomotive Brake in Emergency and the Dynamic Brake at maximum the train just continued to run away.
In Scenario 2, once I crested the summit at Tehachapi and began rolling downhill towards Mojave, there was no way to control the train on the downgrade. Anything less than Emergency and the air bleeds off and you begin to roll backwards. In Scenario 1, eastbound from Bakersfield, as one reviewer mentioned, in order to stop and hold the train on the grade you have to go into the Emergency setting. Problems? There's almost NO BRAKES AT ALL! At least in the first two scenarios I haven't gotten past those. I read in the reviews that there were problems with the brakes in this route.
How in the world did this awful pile of excrement ever get past QC? This has to be the foremost piece of shovelware I've ever encountered. I just tried out the first two scenarios on this route and I have to say that I have NEVER seen something so bug-ridden in my life.
